Clip: Rap News 6 - Wikileaks' Cablegate: the truth is out there

New episode already! These guys are becoming prolific.

There's layers upon layers upon layers of shaky political issues on a global scale going on in the world right now that it makes your head spin. But rap news is amazingly refreshing. I love the 'bigger picture' focus of these. I watched this a few times just to digest all of the content. This is some seriously inspired work. Very exciting project.

Already looking forward to the next one!

Clip: DMT - The Spirit Molecule

This is easily the most interesting documentary i've seen in 2010.

If you have a curiosity of psychedelics and their affect/role in the world, then this is a must see.

Personally, i'd heard of DMT before and became curious to learn more about it, to see whether it was something i wanted to eventually experience or not (always research a psychedelic before trying it!). So this documentary was particularly interesting for me. But whether you've heard of DMT or not, as long as you've got an open mind, totally give this doco a viewing! For this will definitely challenge your understanding of reality and attempt to open your eyes & mind (or, for some, it may tell you what you already know! ;) ). Either way, I believe this is an important documentary for people to see atleast once.

It's not a quick viewing (5 parts of 14 or so minute vids), but it's worth it. I recommend chucking youtube on full-screen and sitting back and getting comfortable...

Part 2
Part 3
Part 4
Part 5

It's particularly interesting when they interview the volunteers who took DMT and told of their experiences, but my favourite quote/thought came from some writer of the name Graham Hancock:

"Our society values 'alert problem-solving' consciousness, And it de-values all other states of consciousness. Any kind of consciousness that is not related to the production or consumption of material goods is stigmatized in our society today.

Of course, we accept drunkenness. We allow people some brief respite from the material grind.

A society that subscribes to that model is a society that is going to condemn states of consciousness that have nothing to do with the alert problem-solving mentality. And if you go back to 1960s when there was a tremendous upsurge of exploration of psychedelics, I would say that the huge backlash that followed that had to do with a fear of the part of the powers that be, that if enough people went into those realms of those experiences then the very fabric of the society we have today would be picked apart, and most importantly, those in power at the top would not be in power at the top anymore."

Clip: Existence

It's always worth going back to the basic fundamental topic of all life and having a good old think about it - existence.

Because really, whether people realise it or not, their core beliefs about what "existence" is, and what it's for, and why it's there, really comes out in their life, be it consciously or subconsciously. Except most people gave up thinking about it due to the complexity of it. But it's worth digging for truths!

What are your theories?

Thought of the day #2: Perception of people

Think about this: How you "know" yourself is how you understand others.

Remember that for next time you interpret someone else's intentions/actions or next time you make a judgement about someone. Because what you see in people is merely a mirror of yourself. Everything you see or know about people and their ways can only be so by knowing it in yourself first, be it a past self, current self or imagined self.

It's important to realise because it basically defines all of your interactions.

Consider this: If you love yourself you will see only love. If you don't like yourself then you won't like others. If you act with integrity then you will see the positive intent in others. If you don't trust yourself then you wont trust others. If you are connected to yourself then you will easily connect with others, etc etc.

The way you interpret people is merely a reflection of your own ways. And the way you feel about people is a reflection of the way you feel about yourself. And the way you judge others is a reflection of the way you judge yourself.
This is the plain and simple truth.

How do you perceive people in general? Assess that, accept what you learn, then make the change.

Consciousness is a mirror. Do you like what you see in the mirror? If not, change the way you habitually think, and the way you feel about yourself, towards the POSITIVE, and towards love-based perceptions (not fear-based), and watch a whole new world of beauty open up, simply because of the way you inadvertently perceive it. Everybody deserves to.

In actuality, most people DO have a strong sense of self, and a sense of understanding of others, probably more than we realise. We actually do know ourselves and others more than we think. It's worth giving credit where credit is due. We go alright! However, there are times when you will misinterpret people due to ignorance of that quality or value that the person might hold. It's important to accept this and therefore be open to learning about the perspectives of others. Two people can have a seemingly flowing conversation and not actually be on the same page, or actually be talking about the same thing. Are you completely ignorant to some of the positive values and thoughts people display? The thing is, you can never know, unless you do. So open yourself up to the new perspectives of others or forever stagnate in a pool of your own thinking habits and perceptions!

So if you want to be around positive people and vibes, then what you have to do is change yourself towards the positive. Everybody in the world has both positive and negative aspects to them, it just depends on what you focus on the most. So if you change yourself, then you change your reality. You will subconsciously give your attention to the aspects in people that are most like yourself. So observe it. Learn it. Accept it. Change it. Be the person you want to know.

The old quote is true - "If you don't go within, you go without"

Thought of the day #1: Change

Change is in the air...
You can literally feel it...
Everybody feels like they're realising it...
Our lives are reaching a point of assessment and choice...
What matters? Prioritize...
What direction to go in?...
The answers will only come if you ask yourself the questions...

Listen to yourself, but know that there's many levels to your being, so the best option is to listen to your soul... You can trust your soul's agenda...

The only thing that wont change in life is that everything in life is always changing... We either embrace it or get left behind...
Choices are presenting themselves...
We now choose which realities to enter, either unconsciously or intentionally...

Evolution of the way we think and perceive as a collective is in process... As we move closer to 2012, energies will only intensify... They will either be positive or negative for ya depending on what you focus on the most...

The energies around us are a reflection of our reality... Our reality is only a reflection of our beliefs... Our beliefs are only a reflection of our thoughts... Choose your thoughts wisely...

Choose your thoughts>beliefs>reality>energy with conscious vision, and join in on the changey fun!

Clip: We Are Conscious co-creators

Want to know the truth about reality? The truth is that we create the truths of our reality.
We literally think things into existence during the process of perceiving.
This is because our world is a hologram (made of dense frequencies and vibrations (Yep, including the hardest of objects)) which is shaped and created by humanity's collective thoughts and beliefs.

Most people seem to view everybody as a separate entity, but we all have a consciousness that is connected to the same energy life forces. Your thoughts and beliefs, and my thoughts and beliefs, contribute to the overall body of humanity, i.e. the collective conscious.

It's the collective conscious that shapes the vibe of the world. So you've got to ask yourself: Is my mind creating positive or negative frequencies for the world? How can i intentionally and consciously create thoughts that are benevolent towards the evolution of the human soul and towards the peace, love and harmony of our world? Everybody is a contributor.

Don't think for a second that a single one person can't make difference in the world, because if our own consciousnesses comprise the collective conscious, and the collective conscious shapes the overall vibe of our world, then everybody's mind is a contributor to the world's "shape" (be it for good or for bad). It's time to take responsibility for the awful shape that the world is in by acknowledging that every circumstance in the world (be it good or bad) was created from thought (Usually not intentionally created obviously, but still created nonetheless). Our collective consciousness created it. Which may be hard to swallow at first, but it's true. Knowing this also means: YOU have the power, and I have the power, for change. It all starts from within our own minds.

It's this information that needs to be absorbed and understood by all human life. Because as our minds and souls evolve, and the rate of thought-created manifestations increases, we are going to have to learn together how to manage creating the world for the better. And we can't do that without information/ideas about our reality.

Perhaps this vid will enlighten some on the topic:

Feel free to discuss the ideas and information expressed in the clip...

Unplug the Signal: The Truth Will Not Be Televised

Do you watch a lot of TV?
Have you ever thought 'Wow, TV could be a LOT better if they tried'?
Have you ever absent-mindedly sat down in front of a TV and stayed put for longer periods of time, without talking, doing, or thinking anything?
I think we ALL have at least once in our lives (if not hundreds or thousands of times).
This can be regarded as a hypnotic state.
Have you thought about how that affects your unconscious mind?
If not, then for your own greater good, read on...

A flow of information is constantly streaming from the television set; a bombardment of words and pictures. The speed at which this information is communicated makes it easy for the signal to take control, switching the viewer's brain to stand-by as information is absorbed without analysis or question. Today the television's constant signal shapes the conclusions of the masses and produces the collective norm. The signal prescribes what is news and what is truth through the words of so-called experts and authorities, gelding the consciousness and independent thoughts of those subjected to it. Through television, the masses can be made to accept the most monstrous distortions of reality. The signal is a chill wind of continuous oppression over the minds of the masses. It controls the management of society and culture, creating uniformity across all subjects.

Fuck Today/Tonight, A Current Affair (full of advertising and stories about morons, made by morons), fuck Neighbours (life depicted as dramatically trivial), fuck the 6 o'clock news (90%+ negative stories), fuck 20 to 1 (advertising/hype), fuck NCIS and Law & Order (stories about authorities taking down the baddies), fuck MTV (facilitating the DEvolving of its viewers with its focus placed in trivial areas with shows about cheating spouses, how 'cool' it is to own lots of expensive 'stuff', music with no artistic merit, gossiping about people, forcing self-identity, and HEAPS of other garbage shows with seriously DUMB choices of focus), fuck Criminal Minds (self-explanatory), fuck Australian idol (slowly turning music performance into a compact little package of cliche), fuck all of the shitty television and their influence on young people, stupid people and our culture in general. These shows taint humanity's collective conscious, whether we realise it or not, and we are better off unplugging the TV and using the time to do something of higher purpose.

Vent over. :) Phew.

Book recommendation: A New Earth - by Eckhart Tolle

This is a book i finished reading about a month ago. It really got through to me and for a few weeks afterwards, i couldn't get its' concepts out of mind. Everything rang so true. There were plenty of moments during reading the book where a light-bulb would flash and i would go "A-ha!".

It is a book that is hard to describe to people. And it is the kind of book that can only be read when ready. I imagine if one was to read it too soon, then it wouldn't get through to the reader (I.e. If i read this when i was in high school i probably would have laughed at it). But i suppose the best way to describe the book is as an "awakening" book. It advocates present moment awareness and the dismantling of the ego as the path towards awakened living. Some of the things in the book i don't agree with, but for the most part it hits the nail on the head. But it's really something that one must judge for him/herself.

Yes, it was promoted on Oprah, but don't let that deter you.

People that are already familiar with eastern spiritual philosophies such as buddhism may not get much out of this book, as it is mostly a rehash of those concepts. But it is just communicated in a more "western" way.

Clip: Rap News

I'm not usually a huge fan of rap, but this is one definite exception.

Juice Media's Rap News (an Aussie independent media source co-created by Jordan Ninni and Melbourne-based rapper Hugo Farrant) takes a broad "bigger picture" view of the major issues of the world, turns it into a clever rhyme, applies a head-nodding beat, laces it with comedy, and provides a thought-provoking medium of political awareness.

It's truly refreshing to have a conscious rapper rising into the music scene, and i hope they make an impact. The thought and creativity that has gone into these is excellent, and i really believe in what they're doing.

There have been 3 episodes so far. Enjoy...

Article: Mystery as century-old Swiss watch discovered in ancient tomb sealed for 400 years

I just love the mysterious facets of the world that nobody can explain. And this is one of them.

A 100 year-old watch/ring in a 400 year-old tomb, ay? Hmmm...

Archaeologists are stumped after finding a 100-year-old Swiss watch in an ancient tomb that was sealed more than 400 years ago.

They believed they were the first to visit the Ming dynasty grave in Shangsi, southern China, since its occupant's funeral.

But inside they uncovered a miniature watch in the shape of a ring marked 'Swiss' that is thought to be just a century old.

Article: Ancient civilization discovered in Amazon

How cool is this!?

It's always cool to hear about new discoveries around the globe. It's pleasing that they still happen, after all these years of humanity. Just when you think that our technological, consumerist-capitalist-based world has nothing new left to discover, things like these come up. To think that there are things in our world that are still unseen, untouched, or even not yet created, is super-dooper exciting (And when you think about it, an obvious matter of fact)!

A fascinating find has come from the tragic loss of Brazilian rainforest, making some lemonade out of that lemon. Of course, what this discovery of a long lost Amazonian civilization means is that there have been other times when the forest was likewise not there, giving us hope that currently devastated areas can be regrown as well.

What this find also means is that those intrepid explorers of earlier times, such as Colonel P.H. Fawcett and many others, were correct in believing the natives, whose stories beginning centuries ago described not just one but many civilizations or cities lost in the massive rainforest as well as elsewhere in remote, overgrown parts of South America.

Clip: Omar Rodriguez interview

So after a bit of an unintentional "christmas" break, it now feels like a good time to kick things off again.

To kick off the new year, i'm excited to show this 2-part interview with Omar Rodriguez. He has got to be one of the most interesting and authentic musicians i've ever seen be interviewed, and this is one of the best interviews i've seen with him. It's refreshing to hear some questions based around the big and interesting stuff, rather than the mundane promotional stuff.

I seem to have this fascination with him and what he has to say, and i think it's because: a. I love the music he makes and admire what the mars volta have done, b. He's a successful and hard-working musician who is making a living doing what he loves (something i want to do), c. Most of his beliefs really resonate with me, d. He shares his inner-most perspectives without hesitation or fear, e. Inspiring thoughts are provoked when i tune into his wavelength.
This all gets rolled up into this ball of interesting for me.

Anyway, in this interview, he talks about: What he likes about music, his public image/perception/label, his spiritual beliefs, his life purpose, god, the goal of his music, the significance/insignificance of the opinion of the fans, the live performances, his greatest learning tool, the recording technique, his "dance moves", his part in the creative process of volta, future creativity, traveling, etc.

You don't have to be a fan of Mars Volta to get something out of this.
